The other day, you asked me, “why are we all so heartbroken?” And I said “Let me explain this to you in the only way I know how. People do not fly. They don’t create wings for themselves and soar towards the sun. Icarus tried it and fell into the arms of the sea that held him so close he drowned. This is what happens to us when we try to fly. We think we can do it when we love. We fly too far, too close to the sun. And too late, we realise we have mistaken falling for flying. We plummet so fast we do not even feel our hearts’ death embrace us. And we drown in a sea made of our own grief.”
